Donna Harper and Jessica Scales filed suit against Highland Community Unit School District, claiming that it paid High School Principal Karen Gauen less than her male colleagues,
including her male assistant principal, even though she has more experience. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch featured Ms. Gauen’s lawsuit in a February 26, 2016 article.
